Managing DVM

Dr. Whitney Brown

Dr. Whitney Brown knew she wanted to be a veterinarian when, at 14 years old, while working at a riding stable, she saw the local vet come to drain an abscess on a pony's shoulder and she thought it was "cool" instead of "disgusting."  Her passions lie in animal reproduction, preventative medicine and animal behavior.

Dr. Whitney joins Clover Valley Veterinary Services after spending time in both small animal and equine practices.  She grew up on the east coast, attending Kenyon College in Ohio, where she majored in Neuroscience and was on their Intercollegiate Equestrian Team. She went on to do research on cribbing behavior in horses at Auburn University in Alabama, where she ultimately attended veterinary school.  After graduation, she did an internship in Theriogenology, or animal reproduction, at North Carolina State University School of Veterinary Medicine.  She went on to do another year of advanced training in reproduction at Cornell University before accepting a job in equine practice and moving to Washington state.

Dr. Whitney lives in Port Orchard with her husband, Jeff, and their two children as well as their four-legged family: Ellinor, their teacup lab, their cat, Magellan Mae, and a Dutch Warmblood broodmare, Winona.  In her free time, Dr. Whitney enjoys hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, kayaking, crafting, and baking.
